Show Notes

It's something about these Phenomenal, Die-Hard Morgan State University Grads!  In this episode, we uncover what really happens in the Men's Den? I'm chatting with four of my super-amazing men friends, sharing laughs and we are chatting everything from affirming our children and the power of affirming our tribe to advice for single mothers. You may hear a crackle in my voice that sounds like a tear rolling down my eyes, but stick with it - I did hahah.

We tackle the question of "who is on the Board of Directors of your life", how to hold others accountable, shedding people from your life and some of the funniest memories between friends, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.  Grabyour mocktail or cocktail and join us at the kitchen table to celebrate my 1 year podcast anniversary with my Morgan State University family! Please join me in welcoming Dr. Justin Black, Lamar Robinson, Allan Boomer & Mervin Bourne. Let's have a bit of fun!

What can you expect?  It's a slight switch up for the anniversary podcast ya'll.

S2E26 - Dear Meghan Markle: A Thank You to the Women Everywhere Standing in Their Power (with Lolita E. Walker)

"Dear Meghan" is not only the title of my powerful poem that I share at minute 15.59, but it is also a celebration of one of the Power Women that I am calling out as a woman making history as we speak, specifically for walking into fear with courage by her side.  How often do we struggle to do that? Lemmie ask you this. How often do you truly pause and "see" those around you for who they are and what they are bringing to the table? How often do you acknowledge the hurt that you and others may be holding on to? How often do we gift folks the flowers they deserve in this moment? This episode is a celebration and thank you to the women everywhere who are making history and standing in all of their power. Listen in and grab a few things to shift differently. In this episode,  you'll grab a bit of COACHING, where I gift you 5 considerations to climb out of the B.O.X.E.S. that we are oftentimes place ourselves within, particularly as women, either by choice or by societal norms of expectations that threaten to bound us to the complacency of moments past.  Whether Power Women like Cori Bush, Gitanjili Rao, Stacy Abrams, Kamala Harris or YOUSELF, here is a reminder that you are greatness where you stand in this very moment. If you know a power woman to send this episode to for motivation, inspiration, affirmation and renewed action, please do not hesitate.  You leave with the affirmation that you are making history today so make it count.   The Episode Rundown Welcome (minute 0.14) Affirmation from lolitawalker.com/shop (minute 0.42) is "I am the history that is currently being made." S2E46 - How to Boss Up & Change Your Life (with Emily Lyons)

WHAT A POWER EPISODE! Emily Lyons is beyond a 7-8 figure business maker and shaker! She is a thought leader, who is changing the world, one person at a time.  Fierce love is at the base of her foundation and is the core to which she navigates the world.  It's driven by the perspective that has been shaped from the experiences throughout her life.  Sometimes you meet people who touch you and you simply don't know why.  When you listen to Emily's story, you will sit up straight, adjust your crown and remember that you are a warrior!  You are a lion (or lioness)!  Welcome to a taste of her Lyons Den! If your life was a movie, would you say that at the end of it, you bossed up and changed your life?  My guest today has and I am so thrilled to share her with each of you who chose to pull up a chair to my virtual kitchen table for some good ole fashioned Coaching, Cocktails & Conversations. Today, Emily and I talk, asking for help when people turn away, judgement, circumstances, comparison, distraction, failure, lack of support, resilience and so much more. S1E3 - Say My Name! (Dear Black Boy, I Love You)

This eipisode is emotion-filled and raw, yet still gifts coaching, cocktails, & conversations.  Yes, I'm angry and disheartened, yet conditioned to see always see a glimmer of hope. May you remind yourself that IT IS OK NOT TO BE OK!  It is ok to sit in the power of your pause, UNAPOLOGETICALLY!  With the violence that's been thrust upon our black boys and men, I am giving you all of me.  As a Black mother raising a Black Young Boy, the murdres, senseless acts of violence, and hate-filled streets hit hard and spun me in a momentary interruption that I wasn't ready for.   Question for you - When you say the names of the Black and brown boys, men, women, and girls who have been murdered by police or hate-filled citizens (that we know of), what do you think about?  When you say your name, what do you think about?  When you hear my 8-year old son (Minute 22:44), what do you think about?  SAY MY NAME! AND MEAN IT!  DO YOU KNOW THE POWER IN YOUR NAME?
